React Online hosts Drupal with full data sovereignty (and sleeps soundly)

How React Online guarantees data control with enterprise-grade infrastructure

For React Online, it's crystal clear: customers must keep complete control over their content and data. Where does that data live? Who has access? And what happens when a foreign government comes knocking?

For this Eindhoven-based digital agency, digital sovereignty has always been the foundation. For 25 years, they've built digital solutions with Drupal, the renowned open-source platform. But transparent software alone won't cut it: you need infrastructure that lets you be truly in control. No uncertainty about jurisdiction, no foreign cloud providers that can be forced to hand over data.

At TrueFullstaq, they found that guarantee: their Drupal platforms run on a fully managed Kubernetes cluster in the Netherlands.

With 500+ platforms, downtime isn't an option

React Online manages over 500 websites and applications on Drupal. Those platforms need to be available around the clock, but they don't want an entire operational team on standby 24/7. They don't want to lose sleep over infrastructure management. They build platforms; that's their expertise.

Then there's the question of data sovereignty. React Online works with Drupal, a platform that stands for the open web: built for everyone, free from proprietary control. That philosophy demands infrastructure that shares the same values, meaning complete transparency about where data lives, no vendor lock-in, and control that stays with the customer.

For React Online, that meant finding a cloud native partner who not only delivers enterprise-level reliability but also genuinely understands what the open web means.

"Digital sovereignty is extremely important to us. We want our customers to keep complete ownership of their content and data, but also the freedom to make their own digital choices."

24/7 support without losing sleep

React Online has been hosting with TrueFullstaq for years. That collaboration has grown into a partnership where we're now completely renewing their platform. It runs on a redundant Kubernetes cluster in Dutch data centers, fully managed by us.

What does that mean in practice? We handle monitoring, support, and platform maintenance around the clock. React Online doesn't need to worry about any of it. As founder Jean-Paul Vosmeer puts it: "We can sleep at night and don't have to provide 24/7 support because TrueFullstaq does that for us."

The infrastructure is built on open source technology. That fits how React Online works: no proprietary solutions, no vendor lock-in, complete transparency. Everything lives in the Netherlands, under Dutch jurisdiction.

We're currently working together to upgrade servers, implement new software versions, and improve availability and speed. CEO Imre Gmelig Meijling explains why this approach works: "For us, it's really important to think outside the boundaries of contracts and SLAs and to be able to call each other when needed."

Data sovereignty you can prove

React Online can now guarantee their customers something many others can't: data sovereignty they can actually prove. In Imre's words: if a foreign government or tech giant requested data, "thanks to our partnership, we can guarantee that we'll say no."

"We have an enterprise-level platform that's always online, secure, sovereign, and protects customer privacy. We can truly rely on TrueFullstaq, and that helps our customers."

React Online doesn't stand alone in its commitment to the open web. Imre sits on the board of the Drupal Association, and Jean-Paul on the board of Stichting Drupal Nederland. They're active members of the Drupal community.

That community has a clear vision of what the internet should be. As the Drupal Association states in their Open Web Manifesto: an open web must not be built on proprietary technology and must be designed to protect personal data, not exploit it.

That requires infrastructure that does more than just function technically. It requires a cloud native partner who understands why sovereignty matters. The combination speaks for itself: a digital agency that believes in the open web, infrastructure that runs on open source, and servers located in the Netherlands. That's how you deliver real data sovereignty.

For React Online, it's about more than technology. It's about the values they've championed for 25 years: customers retain ownership of their data and freedom of choice. With Drupal, they have the software that enables that. With TrueFullstaq, they have the infrastructure that guarantees it. Through their positions with the Drupal Association and Stichting Drupal Nederland, they actively contribute to an open web that benefits everyone.

The result? 500+ platforms that are always online, data that stays in the Netherlands, and a team that can sleep soundly at night.
